Through the community-based activities we have generated a significant amount of
funds to help make the community a better place for everyone. Through Lishkara Radio
$225,000 was raised in two hours and a total of $1.7 million was raised in collaboration
with newspaper and other media for the Credit Valley Hospital. Others include The
Sick Children Hospital - raising $500, 000 in 1999; The William Osler Health Sciences
Centre - raising $30,000 for Brampton Memorial and $25,000 for Etobicoke General;
The Daily Bread Food Bank - collecting 18,000 pounds of food in 1998 - the largest
single food drive activity; and The Guru Gobind Singh Children Foundation - collecting
